In this blog post, we will show you how to create an entries search form for your table or grid view using Views for WPForms. Forms are a great way to add search functionality to your table or grid layout, and they are easy to set up. Let’s get started!
First, you will need to create your View and add a search form widget to it. You can add a search box to the top or bottom of your table or grid layout. Depending on the type of information that you want to search for, you may add different types of fields such as text boxes, dropdowns, etc.
This search box will be used by users to enter their query which will then be used to filter the submissions and entries in your table or grid layout. You can also include an advanced search option which will allow users to further refine their query by adding additional parameters such as date etc.
To add a search widget to your view click on the Search field in the Add Field popup.
Now click on the search field to open search settings in the sidebar
Click on Edit Search Form Fields in the sidebar to add fields to your search Form.
Click on the Add Search Field button and add the fields you want to display in your search form.
Make sure that all the fields in your search form are properly labeled so that users can easily understand what they are searching for.
You can also reorder the search fields using the drag icon
Once you have your search widget set, add form fields in the Entry List box that you want to display in your view and save the view settings
The search will now display on the top or bottom of your view. You can check the search form on demo site.
To make it easier for users to find what they are looking for in your view, you may want to add sorting options. This will allow users to sort submissions and entries by different criteria such as date, author name, etc. You can enable sorting by editing field settings.
By following these steps, you should be able to create a search form for your table or grid layout WPForms Views. Adding this functionality will make it easier for users to find what they are looking for in your website, improving the user experience.
